Theatre Summer Camps have Arrived

Pensacola Little Theatre's Education Department provides training and guidance to performers, writers, designers, directors, and technicians of all ages. Classes, workshops, intensives, and camps are offered throughout the year. This summer, they're offering three unique camps for ages 5-18.
- Footlights Theatre Camp (Ages 5-9) Monday – Friday, 9 am – 1 pm - Various dates June 4 – August - A two-week theatre camp experience designed to keep kids entertained and foster their creative instincts through arts and crafts, fun games, and activities.
- Summer Stars (Ages 10-16) Monday – Friday, 9 am – 1 pm - Various dates June 11 – July 27 - Summer Stars gives campers two options -- to rehearse and perform a musical or a non-musical. With only three weeks to get the show ready, Summer Stars is a non-stop, fast-paced camp experience for kids to learn all aspects of putting on a theatrical production.
- Improvaganza! Improv Camp (Ages 12-16) Monday – Friday, 2 pm - 4 pm - Various dates June 11 – July 27 - This three-week camp is a great way for your little comedian-in-training to hone their skills and grow into a true performer. Campers will learn classic improv games, as well as improvisational techniques to improve their acting skills.

Pensacola Museum of Art Summer Art Camp
Dates: July 9 - 13 Where: Camp for ages 5-9 located at the Pensacola Museum of Art. Camp for ages 10-14 located at the Voices of Pensacola building Cost: $165 for PMA family members / $195 non members
A Week of Warhol: Explore the art making processes of one of the most influential art icons, Andy Warhol. In tandem with current exhibition Andy Warhol: Myth/Maker and our makerspace, become makers inspired by the art of Warhol. From printmaking techniques to drawing, expand your talents and create your own Pop Art pieces. Camp for ages 5-9 located at the Pensacola Museum of Art. Camp for ages 10-14 located at the Voices of Pensacola building. Registration information is available online.
Pensacola Opera - Summer Opera Camps
Dates: July 16 -20 for Youth camp; July 30 - August 3 for Teen camp Where: Pensacola Opera Center, 75 S. Tarragona St. Ages: 8 - 17 Cost: $150 for Youth camp & $175 for Teen camp
Each summer, Pensacola Opera holds summer Opera Camps engaging children and teens ages 8 to 17 to the magic of opera, and the registration deadlines for this year’s camps are quickly approaching!
Camp I, Romeo & Juliet, for ages 8 to 12, takes place July 16 – 20 from 9 AM to 2 PM, and Camp II, Best of Operetta, for ages 13 to 17, takes place July 30 – August 3 from 9 AM to 4 PM. Campers must bring their own lunch and light snacks will be provided. Camp I tuition is $150 and Camp II tuition is $175. The five-day intensive workshops will culminate in a live opera performance of their creation for family and friends.
First City Arts Center
Dates:June 4 - August 10 Where: First City Arts Center, 1060 N. Guillemard St, Pensacola Ages: 7 -12 Cost: $250 non member session & $200/member session
Creatisphere Summer Art Camp for ages 7-12 is the ultimate art experience! This dynamic program includes hands-on classes in pottery, drawing, sculpture, photography, glass blowing, 3-d design, mixed media, painting, printmaking, drawing, textiles and more! Creatisphere takes art “out of the box,” allowing participants to explore and experiment with unique art forms that encourage creative development, critical thinking skills and innovation.
Creatisphere camps are week long Mon. - Fri. 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Early drop-off 8 a.m., and extended care 5 p.m., is available. It is $5 per use, or $30 for the full week.
Each week campers work in the Ceramics and Hot Glass Studios creating a truly unique art experience. In addition to using a variety of studios on the FCAC campus, campers will visit the 1060 Art Gallery where they can see artists working in their studios. Campers will even get to visit the Long Hollow Community Art Park (directly across the street) to see the fountain sculpture created by FCAC artists, walk the labyrinth and visit the playground.
The classroom features choice-based learning centers to encourage participants to direct their creativity independently after finishing projects.
