Daily insulin injections can be a hassle for people with diabetes.
One start-up company at the University of Florida hopes to market a new way to deliver injectable drugs such as insulin that doesn't require daily needle sticks.
Prometheon Pharma developed a way to deliver insulin through a patch, rather than through the painful process of using a needle.
While they have patents pending on this possible breakthrough, they still need the funding to make it become a reality.
Prometheon has turned to crowd funding site Indigogo for help.
The money will allow for large animal studies, required by the FDA before applying for human trials.

"This is really as much awareness as it is funding. If everyone that this affected made a donation we'd have the funding tomorrow."
The #nopricks campaign launched this week
They have less than 40 days to raise 1 million dollars.
Their hope is that if this patch works, it could be used for many other medications as well.
