Agencies across Florida are working together to decrease the number of suicides.
      
More than 2900 suicides were recorded in Florida in 2012, the eighth largest cause of death among Floridians.
      
The Florida Department of Children and Families is partnering with the Florida Suicide Prevention Coalition to recognize the 12th annual Suicide Prevention Day at the capitol today.
     
DCF officials say children and adults who are informed of the warning signs are more likely to detect, report and prevent suicide.
