WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) - Another engaged couple from ABC's "The Bachelor" has decided to call it quits before tying the knot. According to People, Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell are no longer a couple.

Higgins, 29, and Bushnell, 27, told the magazine in a statement:

"It is with heavy hearts that we announce our decision to go our separate ways. We feel fortunate for the time we had together, and will remain friends with much love and respect for one another. We wish nothing but the best for each other, and ask for your support and understanding at this time.”

The pair met on the season of the popular dating show that premiered in January 2016, and later appeared on Freeform's "Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After?"

People reported in February 2016 that for the first time in "Bachelor" history, the show's star told two women he loved them - Bushnell and JoJo Fletcher - during the Fantasy Suites episode in Jamaica.

Higgins and Bushnell shared with People in October they were in couples counseling at their church. Higgins said, "We are trying really hard and we love each other a lot."
