Pensacola - The theme for Charity Chapel's Vacation Bible School this year was "Saddle Ridge Ranch." Outside of the typical things they learned, it got the children thinking about the great outdoors and ways they could help. That sparked an outright stand off between the Angels in our Midst.

Amy Rodgers, 8 years old; "We've been learning all sorts of verses like Jeremiah 29:11, 1 Peter 5:7. We've been learning all sorts of things."

Amy Rodgers and her classmates also learned caring for all of God's creatures. They'd seen the local stories about the oil crisis and decided to support the wildlife sanctuary.

Gabriel Palermo, 10 years old; "I want to be a veterinarian. I was sad at first point so that's why I wanted to help. They get all oily and since they can't fly or flap or do anything to keep them afloat then they'll drown. So, the people save them, they bring them over there and clean them."

But...

"The wildlife sanctuary, I don't think, has enough stuff to clean them all so that's why the money's going there."

They were going to raise money with a little incentive from a page out of their western themed bible school handbook; a wild west showdown.

"So we had a little competition."

Boys against the girls.

"I found a couple of dollars in my wallet and then I found change around the house."

And they found money everywhere.

"Well, I got it from my paw paw's driveway. We picked up all of those pennies out of the driveway. There were tons of them."

And their coins and dollars were adding up.

"Probably about twelve dollars."

"The pennies we picked off the driveway were about two dollars and some odd cents. That's a lot of pennies, isn't it."

It was time for the face-off between the sexes.

Whichever one was heavier, wins.

A last minute haul from one of the boy's grandfathers could tip the scales.

"And we thought the girls had won but the boys look like they beat us."

Actually, they all won.
