ESCAMBIA COUNTY    -       When you've got a big project ahead of you, it's always nice to be able to count on those faithful friends and family.

Just wrapping up the big part of our Communities Caring at Christmas program, we take a moment to say thank you to some tried and true santa helpers.

B.J.;  There are people that I see here tonight that I won't see for another year.

It has become an annual tradition for a group of dedicated volunteers.  They commit themselves and even family members to a weekend of heavy lifting, sorting, checking their lists and checking them twice.

 B. J. Canavan, Jack Canavan's Mom;  The spirit of Christmas actually is giving and giving to those who are less fortunate than you are.  So, that's why I keep coming back.

Emily chooses just the right gift for the child on their list, helping out her dad, News Director Kyle Brinkman.

Katy John does some toy testing,  before Kathryn Daniel picks that special doll for the little girl on their list.

Maddie was just a baby when promotions manager Kathy Dunagan first brought her to the big Communities Caring weekend.

The spouses come for support.  And you know it's a real family affair when your brother recruits the men of alpha phi alpha fraternity who come from Fort Walton Beach.  They come every year too.

Terry Davis, Gulf Power Company;  This is a way for me to show the love of Christ and to give back to the community and Gulf Power gives me that opportunity.

There are others who've come to share the joy of Christmas and they've stayed; people like Todd Wilson.
Jerry and Annise Mock bring their culinary talents to the table to feed the volunteers.

While some avoided the camera, they all come for one thing.

Mary Land, Communities Caring Team;  The smile and the joy and the happiness on these little children's faces that wouldn't get anything otherwise if it wasn't for ... Sandy Sansing and all the people that give.

Marge Shepherd, Communities Caring Team;  Little kids, all the kids.

And they've seen the parents, grandparents and caseworkers faces.
Bobbie Sewell, Communities Caring Team;  They're so excited and they're so grateful, they're just so thankful.
