Angels in our Midst (Erica Findley)

Selling is her business, but "giving" is her passion. A woman who has known hard times is the very one who lightens the load for others; she's an angel in our midst.

Erica Findley is a sales rep for Gulf Medical Services but the staff knows her as much for what she donates as for what she sells.

Kimberley Alim, Sacred Heart Hospital Social Worker says that "Erica is a God-send to us. We have a lot of indigent patients that we work with; people who have no insurance.  Our vets, even though they're vets, they have no medical coverage or anything to coverage their DME." Alim continued, "Time and time again, she has come through with equipment that makes life better, or even, lifesaving equipment for those patients."

Kimberley;  Oxygen, wheelchairs, bedside commodes, CPAP machines, concentrators, oxygen concentrators ... tube feeding supplies.

For Julie Ann Miebach, it was a portable oxygen concentrator.  The air many of us take for granted, is a quality of life issue for an aspiring student and medal winning special Olympian.

Jennifer;  Julie Ann's Mom;  I'm a retired single mom and would not have been able to afford and that would have taken away Julie's dream of getting a GED and being able to move forward.

Erica Findley; Angel Provides Medical Equipment;  I've been through hard times myself and you just never know what life's going to bring to you.  And everybody needs to be taken care of; everybody needs the same care.

Hard times that have given Erica a soft heart.  Her compassion is tapped constantly because social workers and therapists know they can count on her any time.

Kimberley;  Anything we ask of her, even if she doesn't have it, she'll find someone who has it and get it for us.  If her company doesn't have it, she'll go out of her way; "Don't worry about it.  I'm going to get it for you."

Erica;  It makes me feel just as good to take care of someone that doesn't have insurance, you know, or the income or people maybe that are homeless.  You know, they don't have it.

Now Erica's job is "sales" so we wondered how the bosses react to the time and effort she puts into "giving" supplies to those who can't afford to pay.

Erica;   They always tell me to do what I need to do.
And that's just what Erica does...

Julie Ann;  She's a miracle worker.  She's wonderful.  She's fantastic.  And she's an Angel.

Angels in our Midst is brought to you by Sacred Heart Children's Hospital.
