Rick;  There are modern day miracles happening. You just have to get out among people who can't look to anyone but God for solutions.

Rick Dye sees those miracles happening everyday.  Retiring after three decades in the banking business, he says he didn't want to play golf, he wanted to tap into his business savvy and contacts to change lives.

Rick;   I felt a calling.  I felt like I owed it to me community that took care of me and my wife and the kids over the past 35 years, to help other people.

Rick founded Faith Works, a non profit organization to help rebuild the lives of the homeless.  One part of the ministry is "Re"works, teaching clients to recycle old billboards into useable items like tote bags and aprons.

Rick;  We supply them with the vinyl  material from Lamar Outdoor.  We cut the patterns.  They sew the patterns.  We pay them by the piece and then we retail it out in the community.

Tommy started in the sewing operation and then saw a lot of potential in a warehouse full of furniture a friend donated to Rick.  Here Tommy discovered a gift he didn't know he had.

Rick Dye, Faith Works Founder;  If they sell a piece of furniture that comes in, they get a 10 % commission.  If they repair it and get involved in the sales, they get a 50 % commission.

Tommy;   I'm looking around and I see all this other furniture that needs work.  I said, let me do something.

Rick has given Tommy hope.  He had simply given in to despair following the deaths of his father and wife.  The hopeless, the homeless, just the ones he's searching out.

Rick;  They've just had things in their lives that caused them to give up.  Some times it's alcohol.  Sometimes it's drugs.  Sometimes it's a mental illness.  Sometimes it's the loss of a job.

Kenneth; I was in the hospital in Panama City.  I almost died.  I talked to a chaplain and he gave me Rick's number.

He come pick me up and brought me down here to run this for him.
Kenneth has a purpose in life now, running the housing operation of Faith Works.  The well known little cottages on Cervantes Street, have been turned into housing for the very sick and disabled homeless.

Rick;  It's the best deal in town and we've been able to house 27 people who were previously out in the woods or living where they shouldn't have been.

There's appliance Re-work, Home delivered meals.  That banker's mind is always thinking of the next venture that will help raise someone up.

Rick;  So many times, I have lifted up a prayer and I'll be datgum if in sometimes minutes, hours or days, a resource comes available.

And it's another prayer answered for another lost soul.
Tommy;  That man has done a lot for not just me but a lot of people out here.
