Tropical Depression 2 has formed over the Atlantic Ocean. The system is moving west and is headed to the Caribbean Sea. This system is not forecast to become much stronger and could become non-tropical by Thursday.

Florida is deadliest state for lightning strikes

Florida is known for being the deadliest state in the country for lightning strikes, and 2014 has been no exception.

Meteorologists from the Weather Service say there are nearly 1.5 million lightning strikes in Florida each year.
   
So far, four people in Florida have been fatally struck by lightning this year.
   
The National Weather Service says that as many people in the US outside the state of Florida have been struck by lightning.
     
In 2013, there were four lightning deaths total in the state of  Florida.Florida is deadliest state for lightning strikes
