Adopt a Shelter Dog Month
PENSACOLA, Fla. (WEAR) —
If you're looking to add a furry friend to your family, now is the perfect time!
October is Adopt A Shelter Dog Month.
The Escambia County Animal Shelter is reducing their adoption fees to celebrate.
For the rest of October, you can take home a dog under three years old for $55 and a dog older than that age for $35.
You can click here to view the adoptable dogs or visit the shelter at 200 W. Fairfield Drive in Pensacola. Adoption hours are Tuesday through Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Adoption fees include altering of the animal (spay or neutering services), microchip and the first year's shots, including rabies vaccinations. Escambia County residents will be required to purchase a license at the time of adoption.
This is an additional $11 over the adoption fees and is paid separately.
According to the shelter, in September alone, 610 animals passed through the doors of the Escambia County Shelter.
