Officials with Daphne Search and Rescue say they have recovered a second body after a father and son went missing in the Spanish River on Wednesday.

Thursday morning divers recovered the body of 81-year-old Leo Scott who went missing the same time after he fell overboard with his son, 52-year-old Frederick Scott.

Chaplain Tony Dickey with Daphne Search and Rescue told Channel 3 News the body of Leo was found around 10:14 a.m. Frederick's body was recovered around 3 p.m.

After finding Leo's body, Dickey said Thursday's thunderstorm was impeding the search to find Frederick.

Alabama Law Enforceement Agency (ALEA) Marine Troopers, Daphne Search and Rescue, North Baldwin County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue and Mobile County Sheriff's Office Flotilla were all involved in the search. The Coast Guard searched Wednesday for the two men.

Around 1 p.m. Wednesday, a mariner called the Coast Guard after he saw his cousin and uncle fall overboard after their boat capsized in Spanish River due to the weather.

Spanish River is three miles north of the Battleship in Baldwin County.
