Boeing gives Okaloosa schools $26,000
OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WEAR) —
There's new support for Okaloosa County's STEM program.
Boeing announced a $26,000 grant Monday.
It will go to eight schools in the district to teach kids more about math and science.
School district officials say this is a big win.
"As you well know, with the new tech that is coming onboard, the industry is changing and so we need to prepare our kids for those jobs that are going to be available in the next 5 to 10 years," said Ben Shuman, with the Okaloosa County School District.
The Okaloosa Public Schools Foundation will match $17,000 of the grant.
