Commissioners to vote the fate of Rawson Lane
PENSACOLA, Fla. (WEAR) —
Next week Escambia County commissioners will discuss the future of Rawson Lane in Pensacola.
The road cuts through property owned by Pensacola Christian College.
The school has petitioned the county to take over that stretch of road between Brent Lane and Airport Boulevard.
Neighbors say the closure would limit access to their homes.
Commissioner Lumon May said the proposal has also raised concerns about whether it would limit access for emergency responders.
May also said closing it will increase the traffic on other nearby roads.
Commissioners are holding a special meeting on Rawson Lane Monday night.
