Cram the Van wraps up in Pensacola: Next stop, Santa Rosa County
PENSACOLA, Fla. (WEAR) —
From Kindergarten through high school, having the right school supplies can make a big difference in a child's educational success.
On Thursday, Channel 3 was at the Walmart stores on Mobile Highway and Creighton Road in Pensacola from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. collecting school supplies for area children.
Sandy Sansing, from Sandy Sansing Automotive, helped the cause with a donation from his family and car dealership.
And Kristie Kelley with the Escambia County Public Schools Foundation also donated a check on behalf of the organization.
"Really our purpose is to invest in children in Escambia County," Kelley said.
Sansing and Kelley were two of the many people who helped make the annual school supplies drive a success.
But the 'Cram the Van' campaign is not over yet.
There's another opportunity for Northwest Florida residents to donate on Thursday, July 27.
Channel 3 will be at the Walmart stores at Tiger Point and Pace that day, once again from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., looking to cram some more vans with school supplies for children in need.
