DCF investigation into child's 'severe bruises' leads to Northwest Florida man's arrest
ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WEAR) —
A Northwest Florida man is facing charges after a state investigation.
Michael Jason Hayes, 35, has been charged with cruelty toward a child.
The Escambia County Sheriff's Office said he spanked the child and left "severe bruises."
According to the arrest report, the child said Hayes spanks her when she doesn't listen or when she doesn't eat fast enough.
The Department of Children and Families worked with the sheriff's office on the investigation.
Hayes is being held in the Escambia County Jail on a $10,000 bond, according to the jail's website.
