Ferris Hill Baptist Church extends days for cold weather shelter
MILTON, Fla. (WEAR) —
A cold weather shelter in Milton that opens its doors each time the weather dips below 40 degrees is extending its hours. Ferris Hill Baptist Church originally planned open through the weekend.
Now, the church will open through Wednesday, January 17th. The shelter's hours are between 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. People will not be let in after that time unless they are brought in by law enforcement officers. The shelter will close at 7 a.m. each morning.
The organization is asking people to donate new or gently used, clean jackets and blankets for residents at the cold weather shelter. The church also has a clothing ministry - so if they get more than what they need, the excess will not go to waste, it will go to that ministry. People can drop the items off at the church, located at 6848 Chaffin Street in Milton, Florida.
