FHP: Avoid I-10 eastbound if possible as evacuees head back home
State troopers are asking local motorists to avoid Interstate 10, especially eastbound, from Monday until Tuesday if possible.
The Florida Highway Patrol said many evacuees are heading home after escaping Irma. They say there has been an influx of people on the roadways trying to make it safely back.
Channel 3 has received multiple calls addressing the heavy traffic on I-10.
Officials are asking motorists to be patient if they're going eastbound on I-10.
