FHP: Four-year-old thrown out of vehicle, critically injured in Davis Highway collision
ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WEAR) —
A four-year-old boy is in critical condition following a multi-vehicle collision Thursday morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), 69-year-old Sara Hyduk was heading northbound on Davis Highway just after 8:45 a.m. Two other vehicles, driven by Antonio Cuffy and Sabrina Condino, were stopped at a red light on Davis Highway near Johnson Avenue.
The FHP report stateed Hyduk may have had a medical emergency and lost consciousness, causing her to lose control of the vehicle and collided into both cars driven by Cuffy and Condino.
FHP said a a child inside Cuffy's car was ejected from the vehicle and thrown under Hyduk's car. The boy was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
Hyduk also suffered minor injuries.
State troopers are continuing to investigate the collision and charges are pending.
