Teenager dies in rollover crash in Century

An Alabama teenager died Friday evening after being ejected from her vehicle as it overturned on County Road 4A in Century.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), at 8:05 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 22nd, Daizee Brooke Angus, 19, of Flomaton, Ala. was driving east on County Road 4A when she failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway.

Angus' vehicle traveled onto the south shoulder of County Road 4A, and overcorrected, traveling across the roadway and onto the north shoulder.

According to FHP, Angus' vehicle overturned approximately four times, coming to a final rest on its roof.

Angus was ejected from her vehicle between the third and fourth rollover before she came to a rest in the westbound lane of County Rd. 4A. The FHP press release states that Angus was not wearing a seatbelt.

Two separate vehicles, driven by Haley N. Smith, 25, of Flomaton, Ala. and Alston S. Wiggins, 19, of McDavid, Fla., were traveling westbound on County Rd. 4A around the time of the incident.

Both drivers failed to see Angus in the roadway and subsequently ran her over.

Charges against Smith and Wiggins are pending a traffic homicide investigation.

Additionally, According to our media partner,, a secondary crash occurred at the same scene when the driver of a pickup truck swerved to miss Angus in the roadway and collided with another pickup truck.

Neither driver was injured. The names of those drivers were not released. reported roadway was closed for hours by the accidents.
