Florida Highway Patrol makes drug arrest in Pensacola
PENSACOLA, Fla. (WEAR) —
A Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) trooper working speed enforcement Monday night stopped a suspect whose alleged criminal activity far exceeded a standard traffic infraction.
The FHP said 34-year-old Antonio Holt was stopped for a traffic violation in his 2000 black Jeep Cherokee around 10:30 p.m. on Michigan Avenue.
Upon stopping the suspect, the FHP notified the Escambia County Sheriff's Office (ECSO), and the K-9 "Tango," who was called to the scene.
Tango allegedly sniffed out some narcotics and a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted.
The FHP said in a press release that the narcotics located included: 9.3 grams of "crystal substance" that tested positive for meth, 12 Xanax bars, 51.5 hydrocodone tabs, a scale, 15 grams of weed, nine ecstasy tablets, once clear bag of white powder substance they say tested positive for cocaine, two clear bags containing a grey power substance they say will be tested by the FDLE lab, and $484 in cash.
Holt is charged with trafficking prescription drugs along with four drug possession charges.
