Florida state corrections officer in custody after allegedly pointing gun at a child
CENTURY, Fla. (WEAR) —
A Florida State Corrections officer is in custody after he allegedly pointed a gun at an 11-year-old boy.
David Leggett is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
According to the boy, Leggett was arguing with the boy's mother when he pulled a gun on them both. The boy then fled the Century residence where it happened and waited for Escambia County deputies.
According to NorthEscambia.com, in an interview with deputies the mother denied the boy's claims but was noted as being "very evasive" in the report.
Leggett is currently being held in the Escambia County Jail on a $2,000 bond.
