Fourth victim passes away in Boyette murder spree
ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WEAR) —
Escambia authorities say William Boyette's fourth victim in the last week has succumbed to her injuries and died on Tuesday.
According to the Escambia County Sheriff's Office (ECSO) , Boyette shot 28-year-old Kayla Crocker and stole her car after a home invasion Monday morning.
Crocker's 2-year-old son was inside the home at the time of the attack, but he was not harmed.
Authorities say Boyette and accomplice Mary Rice took off in Crocker's 2006 white Chevy Cobalt bearing a Florida tag.
Sheriff David Morgan said after the crime Boyette and Mary Rice drove to a nearby Shell gas station on Beulah Road, then to Hardee's for breakfast.
Earlier Tuesday afternoon authorities in Georgia received a tip that they saw a car that looked similar to Crocker's at West Point Motel.
When officials arrived Rice was taken into custody. Boyette died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
