Get ready for a week with the Blues
PENSACOLA, Fla. (WEAR) —
The Pensacola Beach Air Show is coming up on July 8, but they've got a week packed full of activities for you to take part in before that big Saturday!
It just so happens that this year's airshow will be during the week of Independence Day. That pride will be on full display in days leading up to this year's air show.
Go ahead and write the events below on your calendar, we know you won't want to miss any of these!
Tuesday, July 4 - Bands on the Beach & Independence Day fireworks
Johnny Earthquake and the Moondogs will be performing at Bands on the Beach starting at 7 p.m. on the Gulfside Pavilion stage on the beach. Fireworks start at 8:30 p.m. over the Santa Rosa Sound.
Wednesday, July 5 - Breakfast with the Blues
This is a yearly tradition; thousands will flock to the beach to enjoy breakfast while waiting for the Blues to pass overhead at 8 a.m. If you can't make it to this one, don't worry, you still have more opportunities this week to catch a glimpse of the famous flight team!
Thursday and Friday, July 6 -7 - Blue Angels Practice Show
Visitors will get another chance to see the Blues' high-speed stunts during two practice runs scheduled for 2 pm. on Thursday and Friday. Dress rehearsal for the airshow's civilian acts start at noon on Friday.
Saturday, July 8 - Pensacola Beach Air Show
The official 2017 airshow kicks off at noon. If you're a local, you know to get there before the sun comes up! Be sure to pack sunscreen, water and an umbrella to keep you cool!
