Man dead after being run over by truck in Santa Rosa County
PACE, Fla. (WEAR) —
A man was killed when he was run over by a truck Monday afternoon in Santa Rosa County.
Brant Williams, 26, was found lying in the middle of the road on Parkview Street in Pace when Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived.
Investigators said they also found a woman sitting inside a parked pickup truck.
According to an incident report, EMS officials say Williams had a weak pulse when was taken to the hospital.
In the report, one witness told investigators Williams jumped down from the porch of a home on Parkview Street and tried to get inside the truck as it was backing out.
They said Williams punched the passenger side of the truck, fell, and the woman ran him over.
Santa Rosa County Spokesperson Rich Aloy said they are treating Williams' death as a tragic accident.
"Our investigators arrived on scene, crime scene, as well, as our major crime detectives and initial indicators led us to believe this is a tragic incident. We found no indication of foul play and at this time we have established enough information that led us to believe this is a tragic accident," explained Aloy.
Williams later died at West Florida Hospital.
The woman driving the pickup truck was not hurt.
