Random citizens honor Escambia County investigators for swift justice in murder case
An Escambia County family honored the sheriff’s office for solving the senseless murder of a 19-year-old man.
JaQuan Berry was murdered over $60 dollars’ worth of marijuana on June 20th.
Escambia County Sheriff Investigators worked tirelessly to make an arrest and get justice for the family.
On June 27th, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of three people on Twitter:
- Shountareeya Jones, charged with second degree murder
- Deon Nettles, charged with accessory after the fact
- Shalen Yeldon, charged with accessory after the fact
A family presented the investigators on the case with a plaque for bringing “swift justice” for their family.
"Monique & her husband, Jean felt compelled to acknowledge the hard work of the men & women of the ECSO in solving JaQuan's murder" the ESCO tweet said.
Jones and Nettles are expected to appear before an Escambia County Judge on July 19th.
Yeldon’s court date was not available.
