DESTIN, Fla. (WEAR) —
Heroic actions by Destin's Holiday Beach Resort employees saved the life of a 5-year-old child Saturday morning.
According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office, the boy had been found floating face down in the pool around 10:30 a.m. He was not breathing when he was first sptted.
That's when authorities say two employees began performing CPR and were able to revive him.
The child had been sitting on the steps of the pool and the caretakers reportedly turned their attention away briefly before he was found face down.
Deputies say the employees performed CPR and worked with the child for about five minutes.
When deputies arrived on scene the boy's color was returning and he was breathing on his own.
