Okaloosa County toddler's death under investigation
OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WEAR) —
A toddler in Okaloosa County was killed Sunday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
It happened around 10:54 a.m. off of Galliver Cutoff Road and Henderson Lane in Okaloosa County.
According to the FHP's initial report, 36-year-old Christopher Ryles was towing a trailer on a 2002 GMC Sierra with a toddler in the bed of the truck.
The 3-year-old, Joshua Ryles, was hit by the right side trailer tires, according to the FHP's report.
Joshua was pronounced dead on the scene. The report indicates that the child was not restrained.
The FHP says charges are pending an investigation.
