Pensacola man charged with fighting ECSO deputy during traffic stop

A Pensacola man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly fighting with an Escambia County Sheriff's (ECSO) deputy during a traffic stop.

Channel 3 media partner NorthEscambia.com reported that Joshua Matthew Russaw, 30, was pulled over Thursday morning in Ensley on Highway 29 near Detroit Boulevard.

According to NorthEscambia.com, ECSO says Russaw fought with one of their deputies, hitting him at least once. The deputy was not injured, according to the NorthEscambia.com report.

Russaw is charged with third-degree felony battery, resisting an officer, and obstruction.

Russaw is also charged with first-degree misdemeanor fraud for giving a false ID to a law enforcement officer and withholding spousal or child support.

Russaw is currently being held at the Escambia County Jail on being held on a $7,170 bond.
