Police: Fort Walton Beach man infects woman with HIV
FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. (WEAR) —
A man in Fort Walton Beach has been charged with unlawfully transmitting HIV on Tuesday.
According to a police report, a woman told Fort Walton Beach police officers she had sex with 26-year-old James Lydell Copeland in 2015, but he did not tell her he had HIV.
The woman told officers she tested positive for the virus six months later.
Medical records obtained by police show Copeland tested positive for the virus in 2009.
