Precautionary water boil notice issued in Escambia County
PENSACOLA, Fla. (WEAR) —
Several residents in Escambia County are under a water boil notice.
The Peoples Water Service Company of Florida, Inc. (PWSC) issued a “precautionary boil water notice” on Tuesday after emergency repairs were made to a main water line on Fairfield Drive.
Management from PWSC provided the following statement:
“The notice will be in effect until satisfactory water samples have been collected and tested. The notice will be for only the customers located within or near the following areas: the Intersection North of Eliasberg Street and Fairfield Drive, 1400 Block of North Fairfield Drive to Hwy 98W, Mellow Day Drive, Daphne Street, Carrick Avenue, Inez Drive, and the subdivisions of Old Hickory Drive, Sandy Creek Drive, Bay Springs Drive, Hidden Lakes Drive Subdivision, the Ashton Run Mobile Home Park, the Hunters Point Apartments and Sandalwood Apartments.
It is recommended the customers disinfect the water prior to use, by bringing the water to a rolling boil for one minute or use 3-6 drops of unscented household bleach per gallon of water and leave standing for 30 minutes in an open container.
