A Santa Rosa Beach man has been arrested for trying to kill his ex-girlfriend's mother.

"I tried to kill her," 34-year-old Joseph Moll admitted to Walton County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) Investigators.

On Wednesday morning, Moll went to the victim's house on Country Club Drive in Santa Rosa Beach to visit her daughter. When confronted by the victims about being in the home, Moll took out his pocket knife and cut the victim's throat.

Moll told investigators he "cut the victim's throat not once, but twice." He also told investigators "he was going for the jugular vein" and "was going to wait for her to bleed out."

When first responders arrived at the home Moll was still at the scene and was taken into custody. The victim was transported with non-life threatening injuries and was later released from the hospital.

After his confession to investigators Moll was arrested on attempted murder charges and transported and booked into the Walton County Jail.
