Seeds of Hope walk helping to raise awareness, prevent suicide
PENSACOLA, Fla. (WEAR) —
This weekend people will be walking for suicide prevention.
A student group called Active Minds at UWF is hosting the annual Seeds of Hope walk at the University of West Florida.
They want to support survivors and let students know help is available.
"One in four college students are suffering from a mental illness, but not nearly as many go to get help," said Sydney Walker with Active Minds at UWF. "I hope they get resources out of the walk and that they feel that someone's always there for them and someone care."
The walk is Saturday, November 18th, from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the university track.
Admission is $25 for non-students. Students pay what you can.
