Sheriff: Man who ran off with 12-year-old girl arrested
A meet-up set up on social media lands a man behind bars.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) issued a “missing child alert” in Florida for Emily Navarro on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. and an 18-year-old companion.
FDLE and the Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office alerted law enforcement across the region to be on the lookout for a black Honda Civic.
The vehicle was spotted on I-65 and 12-year-old Emily was found unharmed less than 24 hours later.
Santa Rosa Sheriff Bob Johnson said the 12-year-old girl left on her own accord.
Jeremy Sierra was booked into the Montgomery County Jail in Alabama Wednesday.
He is charged with charged with interface with child custody.
The investigation is ongoing so more charges could be filed.
Authorities were not clear of their relationship.
