'No indications of criminal intent' after investigation into middle school shooting threat
NAVARRE, Fla. (WEAR) —
Investigators with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office (SRCSO) investigated a threatening message shared over social media.
SRCSO deputies said they received a complaint related to a message from an unknown source that indicated a threat of a shooting at Holley-Navarre Middle School.
A SRCSO press release stated that deputies received the complaint at approximately 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Deputies partnered with the school administration and began an investigation.
SRCSO said their investigation confirms the school shooting threat "has no credibility and the origin of the message has been identified."
Authorities added they have no indications of criminal intent and the incident has been referred to school administration for any disciplinary action.
