Spring Break chaperone busted for house party, drugs and alcohol
A Spring Break chaperone from Kentucky gets busted with a house filled with high school students, drugs and alcohol.
Okaloosa Sheriff’s Office stated in a report Thomas Gardner from Kentucky was behind it all.
The ‘open house party’ was discovered when an Okaloosa Sheriff’s deputy witnessed teens going in and out of a beach out located on Terra Cotta Way in Destin.
The deputy rang the doorbell “several times” before anyone answered.
According to the arrest report, marijuana was seen laying on the coffee table, in the kitchen and he could the deputy said he could instantly smell it.
The report also stated liquor bottles and beer were scattered across the house.
The report added Thomas Gardner of Louisville was the only person in the home over the age of 21.
“He said he was chaperoning the students and knew they were in high school and consuming alcohol” the report stated.
It also revealed the the 55-year-old Kentucky man confessed to having a duffel bag filled with less than 20 grams of marijuana.
Gardener is now charged with holding an open house party and possession of marijuana.
