Man and woman suspected of stealing Tasty Kakes arrested
NAVARRE, Fla. (WEAR) —
According to Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office (SRCSO) on Saturday, Sept. 30th, 2017, deputies were dispatched to assist Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) on a traffic stop involving a hit-and-run incident that occurred shortly before 6:15 a.m.
Law enforcement at the scene spoke to Lauren Nicole Moody, 24, of Cleveland, Mississippi, and Robert Shane Moore, 33, of Cario, Illinois, who were the occupants of a white 4-door sedan.
FHP and deputies found stolen items in the sedan, including multiple boxes of Tasty Kakes, which had been reported stolen earlier that morning by Robert Pruett, a Flowers Bread truck driver. Pruett arrived on the scene and positively identified the boxes of Tasty Kakes as belonging to him.
A manager from a Walmart located at 9360 Navarre Parkway showed SRCSO surveillance video footage of the same white sedan parking behind the Walmart at around 5:40 a.m.
In the video, two subjects could be seen leaving the car and walking toward where Pruett's truck was parked. The subjects were then seen walking back to the white sedan.
SRCSO noted Moody's and Moore's clothing matched the description of the subjects' clothing in the video.
Moody was arrested in Navarre on Sunday, Oct. 1st. and charged with burglary and petty theft. Moore was arrested in Milton on Monday, Oct. 2nd, and also charged with burglary and petty theft.
