Three sought in Johnson Avenue shooting
ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WEAR) —
Three people are wanted in connection with a shooting that happened Saturday in Escambia County. According to Maj. Andrew Hobbs with the Escambia County Sheriff's Office (ECSO), one person was shot.
Maj. Hobbs told Channel 3 news a blue sedan, possibly a Cadillac, drove to a home in the 3200 block of East Johnson Avenue around 10:44 p.m. Three people who were standing in the yard were approached by three people who emerged from the vehicle.
Hobbs said someone from the vehicle asked the group of people if they wanted to buy drugs. When the offer was declined, Hobbs said, the vehicle's passenger pulled out a firearm and shot at the group, hitting one person.
That person was taken to a local hospital. At this time, this case is still under investigation, and authorities have released limited details about the people behind the shooting.
The passenger, who witnesses said is also the shooter, is described as a black man with dreadlocks who is 6'1" and weighs 160 pounds. The driver is described as a black man with short dreadlocks who is 5'11" and weighs 260 pounds. Authorities have not determined whether the third person involved is a man or a woman, however, the person reportedly has dreadlocks, is 5'4" and was seen wearing a white t-shirt.
