Trial begins for man accused of murdering girlfriend
SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. (WEAR) —
A man charged with the murder of his girlfriend in 2016 went on trial Thursday in Santa Rosa County.
Christopher Warrick has been charged with the July 2016 murder of Barbara Wolfe at a home outside Jay.
Wolfe's daughter Kimberly Horne was also shot but survived.
In a testimony, Horne said she found Warrick being aggressive with her mom. Horne said the violence escalated when they walked into the master bedroom.
"I was facing toward my mom and my mom said 'Don't. Put the gun up'. That's when I headed back toward Chris and when I did the first shot sounded like it went right by my head," Horne said. "The second snatched my head back to Mama. That's when I seen her go down."
Warrick has been charged with murder and aggravated assault. The trial continues Friday when Warrick can testify.
