The Walton County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) said they are searching a man who reportedly crashed into a patrol car and ran away.

According to WCSO, they're searching for the driver, 38-year-old Jason Michael Ellis, in the area of Watercolor.

WCSO said Ellis is wanted on felony charges out of Bay County.

Ellis reportedly struck a WCSO patrol car when the deputy tried to make a traffic stop at Grayton Beach State Park.

WCSO said he hit the deputy patrol car and ran. He ditched his vehicle on the west end of Watercolor.

Ellis has been described as a white man with blue eyes and a beard. He was last seen wearing a gray shirt, pink shorts, a hat and black-rimmed glasses. He is not wearing shoes. WCSO added that he may be getting away on foot or with a bicycle.

WCSO said Seaside Neighborhood School is currently on lockdown due to the search in the area.

Air One has been launched to help in the search.

If you see Ellis call WCSO at (850) 892-8111 or your local law enforcement agency.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
