Catholic High's baseball team believes they can beat anybody. Why not. They're 28-2.

And that confidence could help them in their 3a State Semifinal, Monday, when they play top-ranked American Heritage.

American Heritage ranks among the top three teams in the nation in most polls.

The Crusaders have used the home run in the playoffs. But that's something they probably cannot count on in Sarasota.... not in a big major league ballpark.

It's NASCAR's all-star weekend. A full Saturday night at Lowe's Motorspeedway. The Sprint Showdown, followed by the All-Star Shootout.

It's not a points weekend, which means fans will have one less reason to boo the circuit's leading... And least popular... Driver.

I heard that a longtime ago from somebody, just sosrt of remembered it a few weeks ago. And, ya know, it's kind of gone well for me so far. So we've been doing good.

Busch says another factor in his success is the help he's gotten from his Gibbs racing teammate, Tony Stewart. But Busch, and Denny Hamlin, are prepared to face the challenge if Stewart changes teams next year.

Kyle Busch: Just means Denny and I will have to step up to the plate even more, so, whoever comes in to fill that role, ya know, they'll have to step into some very big shoes. Hopefully, we don't have to see that come and we'll still have Tony Stewart at Joe Gibbs Racing and we can all be friends and be family and love and go on.

UWF's men's tennis team was knocked out of the NCAA Tennis Championships.

Top-ranked Armstrong Atlantic beat the Argos, 5-1, in the national semifinal match.

The Argos' Golf Team has charged from 19 strokes behind after the first round.... to first place after today's third round.

They've jumped from 18th to 4th place to first.

The Argos lead by 4 going into tomorrow's final round.

Kyle Scott is the low medalist. He has a one-stroke lead over Matthew Galloway, who fired a 65.

Tobias Rosendahl, whose score was disqualified, Wednesday, but can still help the team competition, shot a 68.

UWF's Women's Tennis Team was eliminated from the NCAA Championships, today in Houston.

Top-ranked, and unbeaten BYU-Hawaii beat the Argos, 5-1.

UWF's top-ranked men's golf team jumped back into contention in their National Championship Tournament.

They were 5-under today, 17 strokes better than yesterday.

They moved from 18th to 4th place after two rounds.

Kyle Scott fired a 5-under 65 to lead the Argos' charge. He's tied for the lead.

The Memphis Tigers took some criticism for playing in a weak conference, Conference USA.

Now Memphis is reportedly talking to the Big East Conference about possibly jumping to that league.

Catholic's baseball team is a Final Four regular. Every third year since 1993. And they dolled that record up by going to four straight from 2002-2005.

They know what it's all about. And they know what awaits them in Sarasota.

The Crusaders are back in the final four after a two-year hiatus. When they get there, they'll find top-ranked American Heritage waiting for them. The Patriots are ranked anywhere from first to third in the nation. For the Crusaders, just another in a year full of major challenges.

Rich LaBounty, 8th Final Four: I think we'll be fine down there. American Heritage is a fine ballclub. They're ranked third in the nation. But we're ranked 34th and we've played well all year long. And these guys have accepted every challenge that they've had put before them.

They won't be intimidated. The Crusaders take a 28-2 record to Sarasota. And they have not gone three years without a Final Four appearance since 1992. They prepare for this time of year.

LaBounty: I think the schedule we played. We went down to Fort Lauderdale and played real well down there, and played real good competition. And you know baseball in the Pensacola area is very, very competitive. So I think we're prepared to take on anybody.

PJC signee Steven Groves will take a perfect 11-0 record to the mound against the Patriots. The Crusaders have relied on him all year. And he's quick to point out, he's relied on them.

Steven Groves, Catholic Senior Pitcher: We just know we can do it. When we put our minds to something, we do it. We work hard every single day, and we know the outcome's going to be good.
