MLB-FINAL SCORES
UNDATED (AP) -- Tim Lincecum outdueled Colorado fireballer Ubaldo Jimenez and the won his first game since July 30 as the San Francisco Giants nipped the Rockies 2-1 in an old fashioned pitchers duel. The victory moves the Giants within three games of slumping San Diego in the NL West.
Pinch-runner Darren Ford scored the go-ahead run from second base on a wild pitch and throwing error in the eighth inning. That helped Lincecum end a career-worst five-start skid and win his first game since July 30. He's 12-and-9.

But the game was merely a backdrop to a benches-clearing brawl in the sixth inning that resulted in the Nationals' Nyjer Morgan and Marlins pitchers Chris Volstad and Jose Veras and manager Edwin Rodriguez among six ejections. This was payback from Tuesday night when Marlins catcher Brett Hayes sustained a separated shoulder in a 10th-inning collision with Morgan in what the Marlins thought was a dirty play.
-- The Cincinnati Reds finished their three-game sweep of Milwaukee 6-1. Ryan Hanigan's pinch-hit, three-run homer in the seventh was the big hit. -- St. Louis Cardinals' skid continues. Hunter Pence smacked a three-run homer to help Houston to a 5-2 win, handing the Cardinals their fifth straight loss. St. Louis has dropped 13 of 16 and now trail first-place Cincinnati by eight games in the NL Central.

-- Tommy Hanson won for the first time in nearly two months, allowing just one hit in seven shutout innings to lead the Atlanta Braves past the New York Mets 4-1.
In the AL:

NATIONALS-MARLINS
MIAMI (AP) -- Nyjer Morgan charged the mound after a pitch sailed behind him, triggering a bench-clearing brawl Wednesday night during the Florida Marlins' 16-10 win over the Washington Nationals.
Morgan, recently suspended and criticized for questionable acts on the field, left Florida catcher Brett Hayes with a separated shoulder Tuesday night after a home plate collision in the 10th inning.
Florida's Chris Volstad hit Morgan with a pitch in the fourth inning this time. The speedy leadoff man then stole two bases with his Nationals trailing 14-3.
Volstad threw a pitch behind Morgan in the sixth, setting off a wild scene. Morgan took a big swing that appeared to graze Volstad's face -- Marlins first baseman Gaby Sanchez clothes-lined Morgan, knocking off his batting helmet and sending him to the ground.
MARLINS-HAYES
MIAMI (AP) -- Florida Marlins catcher Brett Hayes is out indefinitely with a separated left shoulder that he suffered on a collision at home Tuesday night.
Hayes was injured on an inning-ending double play in the top of the 10th when Nationals centerfielder Nyjer Morgan slammed into Hayes attempting to score from second base on a ground ball. Morgan is OK and returned to batting lead-off for Washington on Wednesday at Florida.
The Marlins called up catcher Chris Hatcher from Double-A Jacksonville.
Florida also called up right-hander Jorge Sosa from Triple-A New Orleans.
Marlins pitcher Ricky Nolasco remains questionable for Friday's start, according to Rodriguez. Nolasco has been suffering from soreness in his right knee.
BLUE JAYS-RAYS
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- Evan Longoria snapped an eighth-inning tie with an RBI single, leading the Tampa Bay Rays past the Toronto Blue Jays 2-1 Wednesday night for David Price's club-record 16th victory.
Price allowed a solo homer to John Buck, a double and two infield singles over eight innings. The 25-year-old left-hander walked two and struck out seven before Rafael Soriano worked the ninth for his major league-leading 40th save in 42 opportunities.
Sean Rodriguez homered, tripled and singled off Blue Jays starter Shaun Marcum. Rodriguez was denied a chance to go for the cycle when he was intentionally walked to load the bases after Longoria delivered his go-ahead hit off Scott Downs.
FLORIDA A&M-MIAMI
No. 13 Miami not tempting fate by overlooking FAMU
MIAMI (AP) -- When the final whistle blows Thursday night, it might not take long for No. 13 Miami to turn its attention toward facing No. 2 Ohio State the following weekend.
Until then, the Hurricanes are trying desperately to have a no-Buckeye-thought policy in effect.
Miami opens its season at home Thursday against Florida A&M, a team it easily handled 48-16 a year ago and have outscored by a combined margin of 355-49 in seven meetings since 1980.
Hurricanes quarterback Jacory Harris says that everywhere he goes, the talk has been "OSU this, OSU that," but insists his team isn't looking past the in-state opening opponent.
Says Miami running back Damien Berry, "We're going to play them like any other team."
MIAMI-YANKEE STADIUM
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) -- Miami has entered talks about playing a football game at Yankee Stadium in 2013.
Hurricanes athletic director Kirby Hocutt met with the Yankees on Tuesday about the possibility. Miami already has five home and five road games scheduled for that year, leaving two slots on its schedule.
The Hurricanes plan to host longtime rival Florida on Sept. 7, 2013. Miami is scheduled to visit South Florida on Nov. 30 of that year in Tampa, Fla., the Yankees' spring training home.
Miami played in the old Yankee Stadium in 1962, losing to Nebraska in what was the final edition of the Gotham Bowl.
