FLORIDA - Florida's child welfare secretary George Sheldon can take the interim out of his title.

Governor Charlie Crist announced that Sheldon will lead the Department of Children and Families on a permanent basis.

Sheldon has run the agency since Bob Butterworth resigned in August.

Sheldon served as Deputy Secretary under Butterworth, whom he has worked closely with for years before they both came to the agency in January of 2007.George Sheldon Names Head of DCF
