ESCAMBIA COUNTY - The United Way Of Escambia County is collecting supplies to help victims of hurricanes Ike and Gustav.

Millions of residents in Louisiana and Texas are still struggling to meet basic needs.

The United Way is asking you to consider making a disaster clean up kit or personal care kit.... from toothpaste and toothbrushes to bleach and mops.

The goal is to send three thousand kits to Louisiana....

Five thousand will be sent to Texas.

"We want to remind our citizen here in Escambia Co. that the needs are still there... that Texans and Louisiana's are still recovering... they need those disaster recovery kits."

Items can be delivered to United Way Of Escambia County, at 1301 West Government Street Monday through Friday, eight a-m to five p-m.
