OKALOOSA COUNTY - An Okaloosa County High School football player was killed in an accident on state Road 85 yesterday morning.

It happened around 10:30 near state Road 123.

The Florida Highway Patrol says 17 year old Mitchell Lee Kertis ran a red light.. then veered into a grass median to avoid hitting other vehicles... Flipping the vehicle several times.

He was partially ejected from his truck.

Kertis was a senior at Crestview High School.Okaloosa Co High School Student Dies in Accident
