ESCAMBIA COUNTY -- College football fans are gearing up for one of the biggest games of the year, as the Florida Gators will take on the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Emily Hawkins and Kyrsten McKeand are friends.

Emily is an Alabama fan... Kyrsten is a Gator fan.

That's why on Saturday they'll set aside their friendship and gladly become rivals when their favorite Universities square off for the Southeastern Conference football championship.

Emily Hawkins said, "Totally awesome! My friends and I are going to Sidelines on the beach and watch the game. 'Bama is gonna win. Sorry Gators, you're gonna lose."

Kyrsten McKeand said, "So excited, so excited! It's gonna be a tough game, but I know we're gonna win!"

It will be the sixth time that 'Bama has played Florida for the Conference Championship.

The last time they met for the crown was in 1999, when the Crimson Tide beat the Gators 34 - 7.

But this year, these fans know theres even more at stake, the winner will likely get a trip to the national championship game.

The fans say they're excited about the game, but others say its more than excitement, its 'Florida-Alabama fever. And who better to know that, than the owner of Florida-Bama Fever store right here in Pensacola.

Tom Dwier said, "A lot of excitement, a lot of the fever. A lot of anxiety and all the above this week. Reporter said, "What's the cure for the fever?" Dwier said, "The cure for the fever? Come to Florida-Bama Fever and get your products!"

Fans of the two storied Universities are already gearing up, buying a few extra goodies from Tom's store near the intersection of Davis Highway and Olive Road.

While the game is still a few days away both sides are confident the game will be a classic and ending with a victory for their team.

McKeand said, Ive got a lot of friends, kind of fighting it out right now. Reporter: Whos gonna win? McKeand said, Florida! Reporter: Why? McKeand, Because we got this! We do! (laughs!)

Hawkins said, "It's gonna be a good game. It's gonna be a good game. It's gonna be close with 'Bama. There's gonna be some yelling, hollering. Maybe some fights are going to break out, we're gonna duke it out! Reporter: "Is 'Bama gonna win?" Hawkins said, Bama is gonna win!

Tom dwiers Florida-Bama Fever store is planning to capitalize on the game. Tom will open his store 30 minutes after the game so fans of the winning team can buy their conference championship gear.College Football Fever
