OKALOOSA COUNTY - Firefighters in North Okaloosa County say they've been locked out of their new station, just as they were moving in.

For North Okaloosa Fire Chief Ed Cutler, the anticipation of moving into the newly completed station at Bob Sikes Airport has turned to frustration.

Chief Cutler "The interior that we have paid for, we're locked out of" Laura "What explanation were you given?" Chief Cutler "None, at the time"

Okaloosa County and the North Okaloosa Fire District have worked together throughout construction of the new administration building next to the equipment bays.

Chief Cutler "It's always been cooperative, that's what confuses us"

Greg Donovan/Okaloosa Airports Director "It shouldn't have been a surprise at all, we were in discussions last summer"

Airports Director Greg Donovan says negotiations have been underway for months, with the county insisting on a new lease before the fire district could move in.

Greg Donovan "The old agreements are not applicable. They've got a lot of holes in 'em. There's a lot of issues in there about construction in particular of the building that were never met by NOFD"Okaloosa Fire Dispute With Airport
