FLORIDA - The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will propose new legislation to create uniform boat anchoring rules across the state.

The FWC says that boats permanently anchored in the water can create hazards to other boats and the environment.

Many local governments have created ordinances of their own that are in conflict with state laws.

Part of the legislation will create a pilot program to test boat regulations in various parts of the state.Boat Anchor Regulation
