DELLA'S DINER: BLUE PLATE SPECIAL

A former stripper turned preacher's wife, her adopted daughter, and the man they've both loved are just three of the outrageous characters in Pensacola Little Theatre's Studio 400 production of Della's Diner: Blue Plate Special. This musical-comedy is a hilarious send-up of country music and soap operas. Directed by veteran performer Paxton McCaghren, Della's Diner: Blue Plate Special and set to the music of traditional ballads and country rock songs, the show's crisscrossing storylines rival classic soap operas. Della's husband has just returned after a helicopter crash that left him with amnesia. Della's 3-year-old grandson, who was charged with causing the crash, is now out of prison. Della's daughter Ramona has given up her dreams of country music stardom after a dismal appearance on “The Tonight Show,” and Ricky Jim, who married Della while her husband was believed dead, is now courting fading superstar and ex-con Connie Sue Day. The show contains adult language and situations.

Tickets are $12 for cafe seating and $8 for general admission. Purchase tickets at the PLT Box Office or by phone at 850.432.2042. Performances are January 8-10 and 16-18 at 8pm with a 2:30pm performance on January 18th. Seating is limited so reserve your tickets today! LEADING LADIES

Ken Ludwig, author of Lend Me a Tenor and Moon Over Buffalo, opens his hilarious comedy Leading Ladies at Pensacola Little Theatre in January. When two down-on-their-luck Shakespearean actors hear that an elderly woman is trying to locate her long-long nephews so she can leave them everything she owns, the two men head to York, Pennsylvania to pass themselves off as her missing loved ones. When they arrive in York, they find that their source was misinformed; the woman is seeking her nieces instead. The two men resolve to play the parts anyway, with hilarious results.

Leading Ladies will be performed for two weekends at Pensacola Little Theatre, January 23rd to February 1st.. Tickets are $22-$18-$15, with discounts available for seniors (60+), active-duty military, full-time students, and groups of 10 or more. All performances being at 8pm except Sunday matinees which begin at 2:30pm. On Theatre Thursday, January 29, the show begins at 7:00pm and all tickets for that performance only are half price. To purchase advance tickets, visit our Box Office at 400 South Jefferson Street, Pensacola or call the PLT Box Office at 850/432-2042.
