MOLLYE BARROWS
Morning Anchor/News Reporter

When did you start working at WEAR?
I began working for WEAR in February of '98. In March 2003, I began co-anchoring "3 In the Morning." Previously, I anchored the early weekend newscasts for several years and covered the courts and crime beat. As morning anchor, I have not lost my enthusiasm for reporting and will also continue to work in the field.

When did you begin working in television news?

I started working for WEAR's sister station, WFGX in Fort Walton Beach, FL, shortly after graduating college in 1996.

Where did you go to school?

I graduated from the University of West Florida with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism. The program was accredited and I gained experience in all aspects of news gathering, from writing and producing a newscast to documentary work. I'm also a '91 graduate of Niceville High School.

What is your background?
I'm a Florida native, originally from Jacksonville. I grew up in the Ponte Vedra/Palm Valley area. My family moved to Bermuda in 1985 and we lived there for three years, before moving to Northwest Florida. I've since called it home.

What are your goals?
I'm dedicated to reporting news accurately, fairly, and to the best of my ability. I consider it a privilege to be a part of the media, since being a reporter often gives us the opportunity to help others, be it calling attention to someone's plight or exposing a problem. I hope to continue working and learning in the field for years to come.
