Northwest Florida sweeps conference openers at PSC


Number one ranked Northwest Florida State was held nearly 20 points under their average, but still walked away with a 75-64 win at Pensacola State.

The Pirates, down12 at the half, made things tight in the 2nd half with a lot of help from Freshman Yeikson Montero who scored a team-high 18 points.

Andres Feliz continued his great play for the Raiders with a game-high 27 points.

Winning the conference opener improves Northwest Florida to 18-0. Pensacola State falls to 11-7.

The women's game was a battle of unbeatens, both ranked in the nation's top ten.

Pensacola State erased a double-digit lead in the 2nd half to take the lead, but Northwest Florida went on to win in overtime 78-74.

Pensacola's Nia Johnson had a game-high 22 points, Ashley Lee led Northwest Florida with 16.

The Raiders improve to 16-0, while the Pirates 1st loss makes them 16-1.
